MOMENTUM NEWSLETTER
| CONTACTSEMINARS- January 2007
I hope the evening inspired you to jump start the new year! Thanks to
Karen for being our guest presenter last night - it is always good to
learn how get out of our own way! Check out her website at
www.pathfindersolutions.ca
The main premise of last night is for you to hopefully identify your
built-in attitude that you have towards money - it is unique to you.
When starting a financial plan it should be designed around your
financial attitude rather than trying to change it.
When you keep track of your cash flow it is an essential part of
learning where your money goes. You don't have to change your spending
habits - just be aware of where your money is going.
Besides having a reliable income for retirement - what else do you want?
Make a wish list and then sort in priority. Don't judge yourself. This
is designed to make sure you get some of the luxuries that you want
along the way without having to sabotage your retirement fund. If we
don't reward ourselves we tend to not stick to the program - there is no
"What's in it for me."
When you have kept track of where your money is going... somewhere in
there is the answer to "Where am I going to find the money to save?"
When you know what you want, you can see what's keeping you from getting
it and stop spending on things that don't mean as much to you.
Next question is how much do I need? Well that depends on a few factors.
You need to figure out all your assets and liabilities to get you net
worth. With a snapshot of your current financial status, there are
calculators available to help you figure out how much you need -
remember - each of us is unique.
Here is a link to
McKenzie Financial - they have some calculators -
but your financial advisor - or if you do not have one - I can create
different scenarios for you.. so you can find your 'enough' number.
If you are in debt, you'll probably have to deny yourself in the short
term to achieve what you want in the long term.... but remember the old
saying no pain no gain - and really the pain will not last long ... once
you get going you will find it easier and easier.
Next month I will talk about different investment options available.
You need to tailor your program with your comfort level.
We will talk about RRSP's and other investment strategies to make your
money grow. If you are a small business owner - how can I make my
profits grow from the business for my future? Let me know if there is a
particular area of what you want covered and I will try to add it in.
Stay tuned for the details for Wednesday Feb 7! Mark in your calendars
now!
(Susan Peach will be our guest showing us some new exercise moves -
including pole dancing fitness and more!)
If you need any further information or have any questions - please call
me!
Cheers,
Shari
